Water Jet
Using today's modern advances in technology, Phoenix have invested in a new water jet cutting machine.
Using high pressure water mixed with a cutting agent, water is forced out of a small jet at over 937 miles per hour! This enables very intricate shaped to be produced quickly with minimal material waste.
The machine has been used to cut:
- Ellipses, blanks, discs and combiners & any number of shapes.
Materials cut:
- Glass, ceramics, IR materials, plastics quartz, marble, silica, concrete, aluminium, brass, copper, steel, tungsten carbide.
The largest area that we can cut is within a 1 metre square. We have two heads enabling us to cut two shapes at once. The machine is very versatile and is suitable for any shape (2axis). A popular use is for discs with centre holes as centering is very accurate. We can currently handle material up to 100mm in thickness also.
There are many applications for such technology and we would recommend that if you are unsure of the suitability for a certain project, that you send us a drawing and we can quote for feasibility and price. There are no minimum order quantities for this machine.
